In Part 2, we explore how Australians feel about their own health, how they manage it and what stops them from doing more. Find out more by reading our latest 2024-25 NAB Health Insights Special Report (Part 2).
While 1 in 2 Australians live with an ongoing medical condition, most continue to believe they are ultimately responsible for their own health. Fewer report having been diagnosed with a mental health illness or disorder, but more want professional help. Almost 1 in 2 of us rate our mental & emotional health very positively but this falls to just 1 in 5 among young people.
While Australians scored their physical health a little better, there remains notable disparities by income. Encouragingly, the number of us who report prioritising our health continues to grow, with over 4 in 10 identifying as having a strong preventative health mindset. Australians identified 2 key preventative healthcare measures – good quality sleep and eating a healthy diet. You can find out more by reading the report.
The NAB Wellbeing Survey explores how Australians feel about their lives in response to changing economic and social conditions and personal finances. Also released today is a timely interview with Victor Perton, Founder & Chief Optimism Officer of The Centre for Optimism.
