NAB Markets – Interest Rate Update February 2024 Post RBA Decision

The RBA has recently paused the official Cash Rate at a 12 year high of 4.35% in this tightening cycle.

NAB has amended its cash rate forecast as inflation has begun slowing, showing signs that the RBA may look to stay on hold for the near term. However, the pathway to any Cash Rate cuts is very difficult to judge.

Tapas Strickland, Head of Market Economics, James Sheehan, Head of Markets NSW/ACT, and Jackie Calaizis, Associate Director NSW, discuss the recent RBA meeting, the interest rates outlook for the back half of 2024, and how NAB Markets support commercial borrowers in managing this risk.
