In today’s podcast, NAB Group Chief Economist Alan Oster discusses the following:

• The ABS released the June labour force figures this morning. Full time employment fell but part time employment increased, leaving a net employment increase of around 210,000 in June. But with a higher participation rate unemployment rose to 7.4%.
• China’s latest GDP figures were also released today and surprised somewhat on the upside – up 3.2% in Q2. While industrial production is largely back to normal, consumers remain reluctant to spend.
